What is my why? What motivates me on a daily basis? What is my purpose?

When I sit down and take inventory of my life in order to answer these questions, my why is quite simple: My purpose is to better people’s lives. I am fulfilled when others are fulfilled. I have an insatiable hunger to serve others, to serve my community, to connect, to create, and to solve problems. I’m compelled to make a difference and ultimately, to make an impact.

So what does it mean to lead? A few words that come to mind when I describe leadership: integrity, empathy, relationships, connections. To reflect these words in our actions I believe that we must constantly practice kindness, take a genuine interest in other people’s lives, and stop on occasion to reflect and appreciate all the blessings that life has afforded us.

How do I go about living my purpose?

Business Builder: With a history as both a serial entrepreneur and corporate citizen, I have the desire to help others build and grow their own ventures by sharing my successes as well as my failures. Whether it’s a large corporation or an early-stage entrepreneur, I enjoy mentoring both individuals and businesses, imparting as much practical wisdom and experience as I can to their given situation.

Disruptive Innovator: Innovation can be an overused and misunderstood term these days, but it does have practical implications; especially in areas of emerging technologies like augmented reality, virtual reality, mixed reality, artificial intelligence, and much more. Staying up to date and aware of the latest developments in these markets not only enhances my ability to help entrepreneurs, startups, and clients, but provides an avenue by which my own ventures like the ENTEVATE and AUTIX can approach solving problems in a new and intuitive way.

Ecosystem Builder: Through initiatives like the StartupNTX and Right to Start my goal is to connect traditional, top-down economic development approaches with the grassroots, bottom-up, community-driven environments in which most entrepreneurs thrive. Ultimately helping communities of all sizes implement an end-to-end experience aimed at meeting ALL entrepreneurs, startups, and innovators at their point of need.
